I was looking for an adrenaline rush a few years ago and wanted to experience something other than normal. Rishikesh, India’s adventure capital, was where my journey took me. The fear and excitement were immense as I lay on the edge of a cliff, strapped into position to jump off at once. The moment I leaped off, the free fall gave me an indescribable thrill.

Since then, this experience has ignited my passion for extreme sports, and I’ve been exploring a lot of places in India that offer similar thrilling adventures. Here is a list of the best places in India for extreme sports.

Rishikesh, Uttarakhand

India’s adventure capital is often referred to as Rishikesh. Because of the Ganges’ tumultuous waters, it’s a great place to go white-water rafting. With rapids ranging from grade I to grade V, it provides an exciting and demanding experience. Furthermore, Rishikesh boasts an exhilarating freefall experience and the highest bungee jumping platform in India, standing at 83 meters. This adventure will be enhanced by the Flying Fox, where you’ll use your zipline to traverse the breathtaking scenery.
