Lad Khan temple is a 5th/6th century temple in Aihole(Karnataka). It is one of the earliest free standing stone temples of Southern India. 

One of the oldest instances of Indian temple architecture is the Lad Khan Temple in Aihole, Karnataka, which was constructed in 450 AD. The temple was once devoted to Vishnu, but later on, Lad Khan, a Muslim monarch, lived there. The influence of the Chalukya dynasty is evident in the temple’s distinctive architectural style, which has a central Shiva shrine and twelve pillars. Aihole, which was once the center of the Chalukyan empire, contains approximately 125 temples, emphasizing its historical and cultural importance.
